A Crappy Dresser

Lots of great ideas have passed through this mind. (Debatable?) Maybe one of them is sitting out in the garage right now, waiting for a Sawz-all job and repainting.

Yesterday I picked up a free crappy dresser with broken drawers. Gloved and masked, my spouse and I were on a mission: find a project for me in order to continue avoiding spring cleaning. My project is on my Pinterest page in the guise of a coffee bar. However, it will not be used for coffee, nor will it be a bar. It will just look like the photo and be painted bright yellow and be a cheerful addition to the front porch, left for the elements to destroy in a couple of years.

As an English major in college, I am used to choosing a “theme” for whatever undertaking beckons. This year, the theme for the porch is “lemons.” “Americana” has gone by the wayside as the aforementioned elements destroyed most of what I had, including the wicker furniture. This new theme in no way obliterates the “Year of the Camel” theme, fellow theme-aficionados. That would be what we call an “over-arching” theme. “Lemons” is merely the sub-theme.

Oh, save me from myself, dear Lord!
